Hospital Thrift Shop Donates $625,000 to NCH after an Extraordinary Season on India Street
November 14, 2023 – Wrapping up its 94th year in business, the Hospital Thrift Shop presented a check this morning to Nantucket Cottage Hospital, totaling $625,000.
“This donation is a remarkable reminder of what we can do as a community. Thank you to everyone involved with the Thrift Shop – the staff, volunteers, shoppers, and donors – for creating something so meaningful for our hospital and our community,” said Amy Lee, President of NCH. “Employee housing is the hospital’s most important capital need for the foreseeable future and this gift will make a meaningful impact.”
The Thrift Shop has now donated over $7.5 million to Nantucket Cottage Hospital since 1929.

COVID Vaccine Clinics this Fall
October 2023 – Nantucket Cottage Hospital is hosting COVID vaccine clinics for adults, 19-years-old and up. Appointments are required and are available to book on the Patient Gateway or by calling 508-825-1000. COVID vaccines will be administered in the Anderson Building on the hospital campus at 57 Prospect Street.

Medicare Part D Open Enrollment Assistance
October 2023 – Nantucket Cottage Hospital is offering limited phone consultations for Open Enrollment Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Part D) assistance. Please call 508-825-8196, Monday – Friday, to schedule an appointment between October 17th and December 7th.
Additional assistance is available from the SHINE Program, a State Health Insurance Program that provides free, one-on-one health insurance information, counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries of all ages. Phone appointments for Nantucket residents are available through SHINE by calling 508-375-6762. You can also email SHINE@capecod.gov.

Counselors are volunteers trained and certified through the SHINE Program.

The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year, and the Centers for Disease Control recommends annual influenza vaccination for everyone 6 months and older.
