Nantucket Cottage Hospital is mourning the loss of Mort and Reva Schlesinger, two tireless hospital volunteers and supporters who both passed away over the last month.

This charming couple shared their talents and treasure with the hospital in so many ways. Their infectious charisma was truely remarkable.

Mort and Reva were consistent donors to the hospital’s annual fund and previous capital campaigns since 1990. They began volunteering in the hospital’s Foundation office every week beginning in 2011, and were members our community outreach committee for the new hospital. In 2013, they received the hospital’s Myrt Eldridge Volunteer of the Year award at our annual meeting.

We are deeply saddened by their passing, but will always remember Mort and Reva’s spirit and contributions to the hospital and the island community.
