As a pediatric neurologist, Kerman specializes in the care of children with movement disorders, including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and tic disorders.Board certified in neurology with a special qualification in child neurology, Kerman focuses on spasticity management, which improves mobility and reduces pain and spasms in children with stiff or rigid muscles caused by brain damage, cerebral palsy or spinal cord injuries. Kerman is also developing new treatment therapies to assist children with movement disorders as part of a team of physical and occupational therapists based at Hasbro Children's Hospital and Brown Medical School faculty.Kerman is a pediatric neurologist in the Children's Neurodevelopment Center. Prior to joining Hasbro Children's Hospital as a full-time physician, Kerman operated a private practice and was the medical director of the pediatric muscular dystrophy clinic at Hasbro Children's Hospital. She is an assistant professor of neurology at Brown Medical School.
Kerman earned a bachelors degree in biology from Brown University and a medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She completed residencies in pediatrics at Boston City Hospital and in neurology and child neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Child Neurology Society.
