Living the Island Life
Come work at Massachusetts’ newest hospital and live on historic Nantucket Island – ranked by National Geographic as the “Best Island in the World”!
Nantucket Cottage Hospital, an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, opened a brand new community hospital in February 2019, the first new standalone hospital built in the state in more than 40 years.
We serve the residents and visitors of our island community by providing a broad range of health and wellness services that include primary, emergency, and surgical care, along with a host of outpatient services and diagnostic testing.
But we’re also so much more than that.
Sometimes our relationships with our patients don’t end after an appointment or discharge. We see our patients at the grocery store, in the schools, at the ballfields, and on the ferries. Our doctors, nurses and medical professionals are part of the island community in so many ways, which makes our sense of responsibility to our patients even greater.
We offer patients the best of both worlds: the world-class resources and network of MGH and Partners Healthcare, paired with the comfort and familiarity of a small community hospital. We are the only hospital on Nantucket, so our staff play a unique and important role in island life.
An island of pristine beauty 30 miles out to sea, Nantucket has something to offer everyone. Experience the hustle and bustle of downtown, lose yourself in the art galleries along the wharf, stroll through museums and historic sites or pick up some island treasures at many of the boutiques and shops in town.
Looking to relax? Choose one of the beautiful bike paths and head off towards the beach. With over 80 miles of beaches, it isn’t too hard to find your own private stretch of sand along Nantucket Sound or the Atlantic Ocean.
