Jane Bonvini Memorial Fund Scholarship Awarded
Nantucket Cottage Hospital medical/surgical nurse Sarah Trottier, RN, has been selected as the first recipient of a Jane Bonvini Memorial Fund scholarship. Trottier is currently pursuing her BSN.
The Jane Bonvini Memorial Fund was established in honor of Jane Elizabeth Bonvini who died in September 2014. Jane worked at Nantucket Cottage Hospital for 27 years as an RN, retiring in 2010 as the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Director of Nursing. The fund was created by Jane’s family to support educational opportunities for island nurses. (more…)
NCH Appoints Major Gifts Officers
Two major gifts officers have been appointed this week at Nantucket Cottage Hospital.
Maryellen Burke and Chris Glowacki will support the ongoing capital campaign for the new Nantucket Cottage Hospital building project, and continue to grow philanthropy at the hospital.
“Maryellen and Chris are joining the hospital at an exciting time for our capital campaign and will bring their considerable talents and experience to bear on this important project,” said Courtney O’Neill, the executive director of the Nantucket Cottage Hospital Foundation. “They will also bring new energy and resources to our other philanthropy programs to help secure the future of the hospital for the island community.” (more…)
NCH Nurse Manager Receives “40 Under 40” Award

Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s Medical/Surgical and Infusion Services Nurse Manager Kimberlee Patten has been recognized by Cape & Plymouth Business magazine with one of its “40 Under 40” awards, which recognize the region’s top young business leaders who excel in their industry and show dynamic leadership.
The program honors distinguished business people under the age of 40 who have made a mark in our region at an extraordinarily young age. (more…)
Letter to the Island Community from the NCH Medical Staff
To the Nantucket Community,
The members of the Nantucket Cottage Hospital medical staff were pleased with the community response and turnout for the Nantucket Opioid Symposium on May 9th. We were represented on the panel by Dr. Tim Lepore, and appreciate that the island community is confronting this important issue.
As physicians, we are all concerned about the potential impact prescription opioids can have on our patients, while at the same time we recognize the benefits of these drugs in managing pain when used responsibly. (more…)
Goodbye and Thanks to Charlene Chadwick!
Nantucket Cottage Hospital is saying goodbye today to one of the longtime members of its clinical team, nurse manager Charlene Chadwick.
After 29 years at NCH, Charlene is stepping down from her position as manager of the hospital’s outpatient infusion services, dialysis and infection control, to complete her master’s degree in nursing administration, and spend more time with her family. (more…)
