2016 Employee Appreciation Luncheon

On Tuesday Sept. 13, we celebrated our staff during an employee appreciation luncheon and recognized Betsey Minihan and Roberta Santos who have each worked at Nantucket Cottage Hospital for 35 years!

President and CEO Dr. Margot Hartmann, along with Human Resources director Jason Hull and Chief Nursing Officer Greg Bird honored 32 other hospital employees for their years of service to NCH and their achievements over the years. (more…)

The 2016 Jane Bonvini Memorial Fund Scholarship

Nantucket Cottage Hospital perioperative staff nurse Sarah Trottier, RN, has been selected to receive the 2016 Jane Bonvini Memorial Fund scholarship. Trottier is currently pursuing her BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing.

The Jane Bonvini Memorial Fund was established last year in honor of Jane Elizabeth Bonvini who died in September 2014. Jane worked at Nantucket Cottage Hospital for 27 years as an RN, retiring in 2010 as the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Director of Nursing. The fund was created by Jane’s family to support educational opportunities for island nurses.  (more…)

Introducing Hannah Severns, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Nantucket Cottage Hospital this week welcomed psychiatric nurse practitioner Hannah Severns to the island’s primary care group practice to fill a unique new position that will help address the island’s behavioral health needs.

Severns, who has an extensive background in the assessment and treatment of mental health issues and substance use disorders, will be embedded in the primary care physician offices to assess, diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of behavioral health issues. In this role, Severns will respond to positive behavioral health screenings in an effort to address the needs of these patients before they reach a crisis point. She will complete psychiatric evaluations, level of care assessments, and provide recommendations and treatment.

“I’m excited to be here and I’m looking forward to working with the community to provide more comprehensive treatment,” Severns said. (more…)
