Multi-platinum artist and two-time Grammy award winner Kenny Loggins will join the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra as the special musical guest for the 20^th annual Boston Pops on Nantucket concert this summer to benefit Nantucket Cottage Hospital.

Kenny Loggins’ remarkable four-decade-plus career has brought him from the top of the charts to the toast of the Grammys. He’s had smash hits on Hollywood’s favorite soundtracks, rocked worldwide stages, and found his way into children’s hearts while bringing his smooth, beautiful voice to platinum albums of a stunning variety of genres.

On Saturday, August 13^th, Loggins will join conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra for a night of music, dancing and fireworks at one of Nantucket’s most beloved beaches. (more…)

Every year, the Nantucket Cottage Hospital Foundation publishes its annual Report to Our Donors to celebrate, highlight, and thank our donors and volunteers. This report is filled with the names of people who recognize that life as we know it on Nantucket wouldn’t be the same without a hospital that meets the needs of a thriving year-round community. It’s one of the ways we acknowledge the hundreds of men, women and children who generously share with us their talents and treasures as volunteers, donors and staff. Thanks to everyone who attended our event at The Chicken Box on Saturday, March 26th, and helped us take another step toward realizing our new hospital! Few people are better acquainted with Nantucket Cottage Hospital from a patient’s perspective than island tile-layer and fisherman David Goodman.

Over his many years on the island, Goodman has been a patient in the Emergency Department after a cerebral hemorrhage. He’s stayed for a week on the inpatient floor suffering from liver disease. And he’s utilized the hospital’s outpatient rehabilitation services frequently for his recoveries, as well as countless visits to Dr. Tim Lepore’s primary care office.

“I got better care here than I would have got anywhere,” Goodman said. “I had incredible attention. It’s a real personal touch being here, and what I mean by that is the nurses and doctors went out of their way to take care of me. It was beyond ‘I’m just doing my job.’ and that was a big thing for me.” (more…)
