We are pleased to announce that the Nantucket Historic District Commission voted unanimously this afternoon to approve the design of the island’s new hospital.

Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s annual Beinecke Scholarships were awarded Tuesday to help island residents advance their education and training in the medical fields.

Open to graduates of Nantucket High School and employees of Nantucket Cottage Hospital, this special fund was created by the late Nantucket businessman and civic leader Walter Beinecke, Jr. in the 1950s.

Nantucket Cottage Hospital president and CEO Dr. Margot Hartmann announced the 47 recipients of this year’s Beinecke Scholarships and awarded $41,700 during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon in the Founders Building at NCH. (more…)

Multi-platinum artist and two-time Grammy award winner Kenny Loggins will join the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra as the special musical guest for the 20^th annual Boston Pops on Nantucket concert this summer to benefit Nantucket Cottage Hospital.

Kenny Loggins’ remarkable four-decade-plus career has brought him from the top of the charts to the toast of the Grammys. He’s had smash hits on Hollywood’s favorite soundtracks, rocked worldwide stages, and found his way into children’s hearts while bringing his smooth, beautiful voice to platinum albums of a stunning variety of genres.

On Saturday, August 13^th, Loggins will join conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra for a night of music, dancing and fireworks at one of Nantucket’s most beloved beaches. (more…)

For more than 70 years it has been a tradition to represent the island community’s support of Nantucket Cottage Hospital with a fundraising thermometer on the Pacific National Bank on Main Street. Today we unveiled the new thermometer to mark our progress toward Nantucket’s new hospital!
