Celebrate Our CRNAs!

It’s National CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) Week, the AANA / American Association of Nurse Anesthetists‘ annual celebration of anesthesia patient safety. Please join us in recognizing Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s CRNAs pictured here: Peter Duquette, left, and Wayne Wilber.

Peter and Wayne are among the nation’s 50,000+ CRNAs and student registered nurse anesthetists who safely and cost-effectively provide approximately 43 million anesthetics each year.

CRNAs are typically the primary providers of anesthesia care at rural community hospitals like NCH, enabling healthcare facilities in these areas to offer obstetrical, surgical, pain management and trauma stabilization services.

Thanks to Nantucket Bank!

Thanks to the support of hundreds of Nantucket families, businesses and organizations, the work to prepare our site for the construction of the island’s new hospital is underway! One of the many community partners helping to make this project a reality is Nantucket Bank, which has generously contributed to our capital campaign. On Wednesday, January 18th, Neil Marttila, the bank’s senior vice president and market executive, stopped by the hospital to help Dr. Hartmann with the move of the Founders Building toward its new location on Vesper Lane. Thank you to Nantucket Bank and everyone who has contributed to this historic initiative!
