Nantucket Cottage Hospital Recognized For Excellence in Patient Satisfaction

NOSORHNantucket Cottage Hospital has been recognized for excellence in patient satisfaction by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH).

Nantucket Cottage Hospital is one of many rural healthcare organizations across the country celebrating their accomplishments on National Rural Health Day, which is observed on November 21st.

Working with iVantage Health Analytics, the NOSORH developed a data-driven program to evaluate the performance of hospitals across a broad spectrum of indicators. Nantucket Cottage Hospital was among three Massachusetts rural hospitals ranked in the top quartile for the criteria “willingness to recommend” and “overall quality.”

“The staff at NCH has worked collaboratively toward improving our customer experience,” said NCH Chief Nursing Officer Bonnie Kester. “It is wonderful to be recognized for their dedication.”

Meet NCH Chef Wendy Turbini

Nantucket Cottage Hospital chef Wendy Turbini cooks delicious and nutritious meals for hospital staff and patients.

Wendy is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has more than 40 years of cooking and restaurant experience. On Nantucket, she served as the executive chef at the Jared Coffin House for 10 years, and also worked as a chef at her husband’s butcher shop.

New MRI Unit Will Expand Services & Enhance Quality

The next generation of advanced medical imaging equipment arrived at Nantucket Cottage Hospital today with the delivery of a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit from General Electric

The upgraded MRI unit will not only provide island residents with higher quality scans, but also faster service, and a number of new capabilities that will allow more patients to have diagnostic imaging completed right here on Nantucket, including gastro-intestinal imaging for conditions such as Crohn’s disease.
