Personal

Hi! I'm Dr. Johnson and I am a board-certified allergist and immunologist. By operating as a team with our patients we have been able to be the first to diagnose green tea-induced anaphylaxis, pumpkin seed-induced anaphylaxis, bay leaf (spice) allergy, and garlic-induced food protein-induced entercolitis syndrome. As well as the first, laboratory confirmed case of Zika virus in Massachusetts. I am always looking for ways to further the field of allergy-immunology and by doing so I have more than 20 peer reviewed publications, a published a book chapter on asthma, over 10 invited presentations to peers, including national conferences. Also, I was fortunate to present anaphylaxis to consulates representing countries throughout the world, which was recognized with a commendation from the State of New Hampshire Governor for advancing the field of allergy & immunology.

I was very fortunate to be 1 of 8 college students in the Northeast U.S. awarded an American Heart Association research grant, which served to ignite my passion for research. My research initially focused on tissue-engineered, replacement heart valves for children at Boston Children’s Hospital in collaboration with Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. These contributions were published in Circulation, the premiere cardiology research journal. Subsequently, at the University of Central Florida - College of Medicine, the research I contributed on Huntington’s Disease was published on the cover of Nature Medicine.

I hold memberships to a number of relevant organizations including, but not limited to, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the New England Society of Allergy, American Association of Immunologists, Clinical Immunology Society, Society for Pediatric Dermatology, and American Contact Dermatitis Society
