The NCH Fund

An investment in the well-being of the island

Our Island. Our Hospital.
Donate now.

This is both an exciting and challenging time for Nantucket Cottage Hospital as we strive to bring our tradition of patient-centered, compassionate care with us from the old hospital into the new building. But to fulfill the promise of our new hospital and maximize its capabilities, we need your help.

The NCH Fund, our annual appeal, gives us the resources that are critical to provide the everyday medical services you and your family rely upon, both now in our current building, and in the future facility. We want to fill the new hospital with the best staff, services and programs possible, and The NCH Fund is the key to accomplishing that goal.

The NCH Fund is separate and distinct from our capital campaign, which is for the bricks and mortar of the new hospital. The NCH Fund is the lifeline for our core services as a small community hospital. Our ability to sustain primary care, emergency services, inpatient and surgical care, as well as diagnostic testing, depends upon the incredible generosity of the island community and gifts from people like you.

So, as we watch the steel rise and the new hospital take shape, I respectfully ask you to consider an investment in the care that will be provided within those walls. Please join me and hundreds of other Nantucket residents in making a gift to our annual fund: The NCH Fund. Help us provide for your wellness now and in the future.

Thank you,
Margot Hartmann, MD, PhD | President & CEO

Donor Spotlight Chris & Carmen Carey support The NCH Fund

Chris and Carmen Carey came to Nantucket 10 years ago and have made the island their home. In that time they have also come to rely on the services of Nantucket Cottage Hospital for everything from emergency and primary care, to specialty physician services. For the Careys, Nantucket Cottage Hospital is one of the main factors that have given them the confidence to build a new life on the island.

Donor Spotlight Alli & Sean Mitchell support The NCH Fund

Longtime island residents Sean and Alli Mitchell have a growing family. Over the past two years, the Mitchells have welcomed two healthy boys to their family – Thomas and Patrick – who joined them and their three dogs under one roof. “I wasn’t someone who used the hospital too much in the past,” Alli said. “But now? You’d have to pry me off this island to have a baby anywhere else!”

Donor Spotlight Ben Brasher raises funds through lemonade stand

Amid the hustle and bustle of The Boston Pops on Nantucket concert in 2014, you might have missed a slightly smaller fundraiser of sorts, at the entrance to Jetties Beach. There was young Benjamin Brasher, an 11-year-old boy, who had set up a lemonade stand to provide refreshments for those waiting in line for the concert and to donate the proceeds to the hospital.
