The Nantucket Cottage Hospital Laboratory is accredited by the American College of Pathologists, which sets the "gold standard" for measuring the quality of procedures in hospital laboratories. A new outpatient laboratory expansion project in 2011 allows the department achieve greater efficiency and greatly increases patient privacy for blood draws and EKGs.

The lab conducts over 200,000 blood and tissue tests a year and sees an average of 100 patients daily. Services available include: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, EKG and phlebotomy.

The Laboratory Provides:

• Walk-in phlebotomy and EKG services.
• Glucose tolerance testing, holter monitors, therapeutic phlebotomy and chain of custody drug screen collections are available by appointment.

   Monday - Friday

   7:30 am - 4:30 pm

   Holiday Hours

   7:30 am - 12:00 noon

   Veteran's Day, Patriot's Day, Columbus Day and President's Day

   Outpatients services are not available on New Year's Day,
   Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day
   or Christmas.
