We’re seizing a once in a generation opportunity to build the right hospital for Nantucket. Our new hospital will be modern, efficient, and flexible enough to adapt to the rapidly changing nature of health care delivery and meet the challenges that come with being the ultimate safety net for a community 30 miles at sea.


Community Health Grant Applications Now Available

Healthy Nantucket 2020, the Nantucket 2017 Community Health Improvement Plan, will guide the investment of more than $4 million in community health initiatives. Grant applications are available now.


WAYS TO GET INVOLVED Jeannie Critchley's Story

In April 2015, Jeannie Critchley was coming to the end of another school year and looking ahead to summer on Nantucket. But Critchley, who has been a teacher at Nantucket Elementary School for nearly 30 years, was about to receive some health news that would change her life. After a routine mammogram at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, Critchley was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.


Behavioral Health Hannah Severns, NP

Hannah Severns is a full-time, year-round, psychiatric nurse practitioner with an extensive background in the assessment and treatment of mental health issues and substance use disorders.


Ways to Get Involved Thrift Shop Now Open

The Hospital Thrift Shop sells merchandise donated by island residents and visitors – anything from clothing to furniture to artwork – from late May through mid-October, and operates as a separate non-profit organization.
