Services in Focus Cancer Care

Developed in partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital our program brings a team of cancer specialists to the island on a weekly basis for patient consultation and treatment. Ugne Aleknaite, a Nantucket-based Certified Nurse Practitioner, coordinates with Mass General, Nantucket Cottage Hospital, and on- and off-island providers to care for Nantucket cancer patients and their families.

Clinical Care Antibiotic Stewardship Program

NCH and island physicians have joined a nationwide campaign to combat antibiotic resistence. The Antibiotic Stewardship Program aims to provide the best evidence-based care for our community and utilize healthcare’s scarce resources responsibly.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED Jeannie Critchley's Story

In April 2015, Jeannie Critchley was coming to the end of another school year and looking ahead to summer on Nantucket. But Critchley, who has been a teacher at Nantucket Elementary School for nearly 30 years, was about to receive some health news that would change her life. After a routine mammogram at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, Critchley was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.

Ways to get involved Hospital Thrift Shop Donates $381,500

Continuing its 88-year tradition of generosity, the Thrift Shop announced a $381,500 gift to Nantucket Cottage Hospital following another successful season on India Street. “It never ceases to amaze me what the Thrift Shop is able to do year after year,” said Dr. Margot Hartmann, President and CEO of NCH.

On Saturday, August 11, 2018, join Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra for a night of music, dancing and fireworks at Jetties Beach. The annual concert is the largest single fundraiser for Nantucket Cottage Hospital and brings thousands of people together at Jetties Beach for an unforgettable night of entertainment.
